The numbers do not appear to have been physically removed; the pistols seem to have come off a production line without any serial numbers.
Analysts suggest the lack of serial numbers indicates that the weapons were intended for intelligence operations or terrorist cells with substantial government backing. Analysts (also) speculate that these guns are probably from either Mossad or the CIA." [In Full]

Congressman Henry Waxman's Blackwater investigation (with the Nisoor Square massacre of Iraqi civilians as a (media driven) focus) was supposed to investigate, with witnesses from the organization's testimony, Blackwater's gun-running operations. "Shrink wrapped pallets" of Glock pistols intended for delivery to the Iraqi police from the CPA. They ended up being used in Turkish street crime. One of the weapons was turned over to Austrian manufacturer, Glock who ID'd the original purchaser... The Coalition Provisional Authority.
This could have been an attempt to destabilize the Turks and cause a backing off of their military presence at the time on the Kurd-Iraqi border by necessitating more domestic policing and intelligence resources.
The outcome of the Waxman investigation?
It's a secret.
This one is about Blackwater's German assassination operation for the CIA where they "Went Dark".
Blackwater, now Xe, was 'outed' recently for attempting an assassination of an alleged 'al Qaeda' financier in Germany at the behest of the CIA.
The kicker... They, as a US sponsored ASSASSINATION OPERATION, 'went dark'... AKA "Rogue".
That means they never informed the CIA station (the US government agents responsible for what little oversight might be applied) they were in-country no less the German government. It's just a short step, and the same personnel MOS/materiel from this sort of op to accomplish false flag operations.

1/4 million weapons missing in Afghanistan, Just like Russian mobster/gunrunner/ex-KGB operative Victor Bout's 'airline' loss of 1/4 million Pentagon AKs in Iraq.
Victor Bout had already been 'apprehended' by INTERPOL by this time, but there's never a shortage of "Death Merchants" as long as someone is willing to pay.

General David Petraeus responded, in that case, with the statement "It must have been a bookkeeping error". Even Stars and Stripes, the military newspaper thought it laughable.

The US military has failed to keep track of thousands of weapons shipped to Afghanistan, leaving them vulnerable to being lost or stolen, a report says.
The report has been compiled by congressional auditors, the US Government Accountability Office (GAO).
It found that, in the four years up to June 2008, the US military failed to keep complete records on some 222,000 weapons entering the country. [In Full]
Maybe it's the 'Bookkeeping' again... as General David Petraeus claimed when the same thing happened in Iraq...
Bookkeeping problems are to blame for the inability to account for nearly 200,000 weapons issued to Iraqi security forces, the top U.S. commander in Iraq said late Tuesday.
In an interview on Fox News Radio, Gen. David H. Petraeus said he believes the weapons did reach the security forces, but that paperwork deficiencies don’t show their status.
“We believe those weapons all certainly were given to Iraqi units,” Petraeus said, according to a podcast recording on “The Alan Colmes Show.”
Meanwhile, 125,000 sets of body armor and 115,000 helmets intended for Iraqi forces could not be accounted for either, according to a Government Accountability Office report issued July 31.
The report faulted the Pentagon and the U.S. military command in Iraq for not applying the same standards in tracking supplies and weapons that it does elsewhere. The system has since been improved, the report found.
...or could it be.... Blackwater?
A former Blackwater employee, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the investigation includes a look at whether Blackwater shipped weapons from its Moyock headquarters to Iraq hidden in pallets wrapped tightly in shrink wrap..

What part of this doesn't the American public understand? The U.S. Government is backing almost EVERYONE'S insurgencies in the Middle East. Even organizations that have goals diametrically opposed to the stated 'needs & goals' of U.S. foreign policy.
Two examples: Hersh: U.S. Funds Being Secretly Funneled To Violent Al Qaeda-Linked Groups
New Yorker columnist Sy Hersh says the single most explosive element of his latest article involves an effort by the Bush administration to stem the growth of Shiite influence in the Middle East (specifically the Iranian government and Hezbollah in Lebanon) by funding violent Sunni groups.
Hersh says the U.S. has been pumping money, a great deal of money, without congressional authority, without any congressional oversight for covert operations in the Middle East where it wants to stop the Shiite spread or the Shiite influence.
Hersh says these funds have ended up in the hands of three Sunni jihadist groups who are connected to al Qaeda but want to take on Hezbollah.

What we have going on globally are 'Straw' insurgencies. I mean... If we can't make peace with them... sell/give them weapons and money through back channels that destabilize their region, give them enough local social control to allow their group a modicum of western media coverage, and maybe NEXT YEAR (or the year after that...) we can make a boogey-organization out of their actions and cut one of those AC-130 gunships and a DynCorp air crew loose from the Horn of Africa (or the Colombian drug wars) to supress them, an organization we initially allowed to prosper.

Experts: A depressed soldier on a potentially dangerous drug needed more time

A Las Vegas Army infantryman who was prescribed Prozac for depression and several weeks later killed himself in Iraq should have undergone at least three months of observation before returning to normal duties, psychiatrists and other medical experts said in interviews Wednesday.
Family and friends of Pfc. Travis Virgadamo say he told them he was prescribed daily doses of 12.5 milligram s of the anti depressant Prozac beginning in July. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound last Thursday outside of Baghdad, the military said.
Medical experts interviewed by the Sun said anyone given prescription anti depressants should be watched carefully and kept out of high-stress duty for at least three months. In Full

It will require MORE than simply voting for the hand-picked (just like Iraq) candidates offered up for U.S. presidency.
Truly unlikely, which leaves us rather permanently 'screwed' into war, and rumors of war...
