California may end up declaring a water emergency this year which will be quite a trick considering the instructions to civilians still includes "Put a brick in your toilet tank" which worked quite effectively in the 1970s drought... but all of those toilets have been replaced by low water usage models now and barely flush with the standard amount of water in them.

The White House has a new policy on the unlimited detention of American citizens which appears to limit that possibility but increases the potential for such an occurrence if you are involved in anything branded 'terrorist' with anyone who isn't an American.
«o» Olympia Snowe, long time Senator from Maine, will not run for her seat again because she has become angry, fed up, distressed, at the incivility across the aisle at the Capitol. More.
«o» Mitt Romney took the pot in both the Arizona and Michigan primaries yesterday.
«o» There is no progress on the Syrian 'rebellion' front unless you consider French and U.S. arms beginning to show up in rebel hands "progress".
Meanwhile, Senator and FORMER presidential candidate John McCain wants to arm them even as a Joint Chiefs general says the Syrian 'rebels' appear to be al-Qaeda (the Libyan LIFG's involvement SHOULD make it obvious) and he can't 'clearly identify' who the 'opposition' is:

Meanwhile, Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) called for the arming of the Syrian opposition, to defend itself from Bashar al-Assad's brutal crackdown. "It is time we gave the (opposition) the wherewithal to fight back and stop the slaughter," McCain said at a Cairo news conference on Monday, Agence-France Press reported.
But top U.S. officials and analysts dismissed such proposals as hasty and unwise, especially given recent U.S. intelligence assessments that al-Qaida is operating in Syria to conduct attacks against the Assad regime.
"I think it's premature to take a decision to arm the opposition movement in Syria because I would challenge anyone to clearly identify for me the opposition movement in Syria at this point," Gen.
