«o» Yesterday across the planet, 1,500 cities and towns were #Occupied. In San Francisco the police tried to clear the park the people were camped in, leaving the city with a number of arrests and one police officer in the hospital.
«o» America's own "Mafia War" - In Yemen a drone strike has killed another member of the al-Awalaki clan... a 19 or perhaps 21 year old son of Anwar al-Awalaki, along with six others. Last month we killed his father. All this in a country where we not only haven't declared war, but that war is being run entirely by the CIA and if it weren't for foreign reporting we most likely would have never even known the US was engaged in hostilities there. «o» Speaking of hostilities, and children, the Senate is going to send 100 'people' (they aren't being referred to as troops, call them advisors if you like) to Uganda. They will be there attempting to kill or capture the members of a Christian 'cultist' anti-government army. The overweening rationale is that 'army' employs 'child soldiers', which is about the only male age group in Africa. Children. The older males have pretty much been killed off over the last few decades. In some African nations the average age of the male population is fourteen years old. Further, what are WE going to do to suppress this Christian 'cult' army? Kill those children?
«o» President Obama is off to Virginia and North Carolina with his election campaign dog-and-pony show. He will be pressing the saving of teacher and police jobs... Nothing institutional and authoritarian about those professions. Further, his speech isn't going to call for any new jobs, just saving existing ones that happen to have LARGE unions, which he hopes will vote for him.
«o» The Israeli government is on the verge of trading one thousand Palestinian prisoners for one Israeli army private captured in 2006 by Hamas. Expect that trade/release to occur sometime between now and Wednesday.
«o» The Republicans have killed the transportation part of the Obama adminstration's jobs plan that would have created jobs fixing highways, bridges, and other infrastructure you use daily in your commute to work (assuming you have a still have a job) and they intend to move the issue to the Transportation Committee in the House, where it will most likely sit un-acted upon.
Remember... They only call it class war when we fight back.
