» Committee-UP Cowboys! Today the United Nations will take on the recognition of a Palestinian state, in the Security Council. It will be denied there but it opens a path for hearings and panels. Expect at least a couple of weeks in delays.
» The House passed a continuing resolution to keep the government running until mid-November but the Republicans blocked it, and now they're scrambling or congress will go into recess shortly with no FEMA and other agency funding.
» Duck... and cover - It's the first day of fall and it also marks the uncontrolled return to earth of the UARS space laboratory:
"The bus-size Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite, or UARS, will likely plummet down to Earth sometime around Friday (Sept. 23), according to NASA's latest projections. There is a 1-in-3,200 chance that UARS debris could hit a person, though NASA considers that scenario extremely remote.Here is an animation showing the orbit of the satellite and ground track of the possible debris field... » Fourteen months to go... The Republican debate last night was a big yawn and their presidential choices still appear to be Romney or Perry. There will be a PAC meeting today at the convention site. We'll see who they fund shortly.
