February 02 2011 Travus T. Hipp Morning News & Commentary: How To Spot The Government Agent In America OR Egypt - A Short Hipp History Of Agent-Provocateurism
In The News: Thanks this morning to ChrisM, my MP3Angel, for supplying the news and commentary audio files.
Egypt: Saying goodbye is always hard and Hosni Mubarak is not making it easy. Egyptian demonstrators refuse a 'transition' 'deal' by the Egyptian government so the authorities have pulled the army out of the square in Cairo where tens of thousands of people have gathered for eight days. This has allowed pro-government supporters (and according to on-the-scene reports, thugs affiliated with the Egyptian security services) to attack the crowd including camel-mounted 'cavalry attacks' and lots of rock throwing. There have been quite a few people injured and the demonstrators are losing patience. There will be another major demonstration this Friday despite the Egyptian army's call for people to go home and be satisfied with the 'transition'. More from Foreign Policy Magazine.
Yemen: The Yemeni government has the potential for collapse soon as protesters are planning a demonstration tomorrow against their long term dictator. Unlike Egypt, with it's relatively nation-bonded citizens and generally unarmed society, the government of Yemen DOES NOT control most of country outside the capital Sana'a, and there are 1.5 guns in every Yemeni household.
North East Australia which has already experienced two solid month of rain and flooding is about to see one of the largest storms in Australian recorded history come ashore in Queensland. Visualize a cyclone (the term for hurricane in the Southern hemisphere) 300 miles across with 100 mile per hour winds..
The Republicans intend to force a showdown vote in the Senate today on eliminating ObamaCare but the Democrats still have a slim majority and it's liable to fail.
