In The News:
H/t to ChrisM my MP3Angel for supplying the audio files.
«o» The Greek economic collapse continues to play out. The Greek Prime Minister won a vote of confidence with a two vote margin and the opposition is talking about walking out rather than form a national unity government which would last until next February.

«o» The European banking crisis still teeters on the edge with the 'Too Big To Fail' but 'Too Big To Bail Out' by the 'EuroZone' banks Italy in deep trouble. Then add Portugal and Ireland into that potential financial crash. Expect a second wave of recessions in Europe over the next year.

«o» The ad-hoc medical Marijuana coalition of California is going to sue the federal government for their recent raids on state dispensaries. Since most Marijuana is grown in the state it's distributed in now, and much of what's sold by dispensaries often comes from the same county, it begs the constitutional question, and apparently circumvents the Commerce Clause, which IS the only leg the feds have to stand on IF the commerce in pot DOES NOT cross state lines.

«o» Vote Early, Vote Often - Tomorrow is election day for a number of states, the Ohio state race is loaded with labor related issues affecting collective bargaining rights. San Francisco has 16 people running for mayor

«o» A Richter scale 5.6 earthquake in Northeast Oklahoma shook the state with the event being the only earthquake in the state's history. Actually, there were TWO of them... and aftershocks!

«o» The US is going to lift travel restrictions to Cuba, but you'll still need to get permission. Undoubtedly this move is intended to allow Cuban Americans to travel to Cuba bringing a taste of Consumer Capitalism to the country even as that economic model shows it's fatal flaw... As a Pyramid scam has a fatal flaw.

In OTHER News:
One Word... "Nuts!"
An Open Letter From #OccupySantaCruz To Santa Cruz' Government
According to various accounts from those present, when (General Anthony Clement) McAuliffe was told of the German demand for surrender he said "nuts". At a loss for an official reply, Lt. Col. Harry Kinnard suggested that his first remark summed up the situation well, which was agreed to by the others. The official reply was typed and delivered by Colonel Joseph Harper, commanding the 327th Glider Infantry, and his S-3, Major Alvin Jones, to the German delegation. It was as follows:
To the German Commander.

The American Commander
Suffice it to say, the Germans were perplexed at the short reply. Harper offered an explanation of the meaning of the word to the Germans, telling them that in "plain English" it meant "Go to hell."[1] (source)
At first "Wes" came up with this draft letter to the city of Santa Cruz in response to their ultimatum masquerading as a 'permit':
Uh, thanks City. I can see how this makes it easier politically for you to still bust homeless people in the park while ignoring our occupation, but since the need for usable public space is a small and important part of our occupation, we got that covered, thanks.

While neither the GA nor the individuals in the legal committee asked for the special event permit, nor for all the restrictions that come with it, thank you for the kind thought, but no thank you.

If you still would like to help (and to be sure, help without strings attached is certainly welcome), perhaps you could direct the city manager to direct the police to leave the occupation alone. We know you have no direct say over the county sheriffs, but perhaps your example will inspire the county supervisors to direct the sheriff to also leave the occupation alone.

In any case, thank you for thinking of us. While your help is welcome, we’ll be okay without you.
«o»  This final draft open letter is in response to the city of Santa Cruz California's attempt to deliver an ultimatum to #OccupySantaCruz in the form of an unrequested and unwanted 'permit for a non-profit event'.

Of course #Occupations are not really a non-profit event, but a protest, and there were a number of other issues with the document, including the concept of 'permission to #Occupy' itself that caused the following letter to be voted affirmative in a near consensus.

It will be delivered tomorrow November 7 2011 at 3PM PST by the whole of #OccupySantaCruz not only to the city manager who actualized it, but the city council members, wherever they may be found at the city hall complex, to whom the city manager is answerable.

IF all goes well, we'll see a response similar to this:

"Bakunin had little time for Marx’s disdain for the peasantry and the lumpenproletariat of the urban slums. Marx, for all his insight into the self-destructive machine of unfettered capitalism, viewed the poor as counterrevolutionaries, those least capable of revolutionary action.

Bakunin, however, saw in the “uncivilized, disinherited, and illiterate” a pool of revolutionists who would join the working class and turn on the elites who profited from their misery and enslavement.

Bakunin proved to be the more prophetic.

The successful revolutions that swept through the Slavic republics and later Russia, Spain and China, and finally those movements that battled colonialism in Africa and the Middle East as well as military regimes in Latin America, were largely spontaneous uprisings fueled by the rage of a disenfranchised rural and urban working class, and that of dispossessed intellectuals.

"Revolutionary activity, Bakunin correctly observed, was best entrusted to those who had no property, no regular employment and no stake in the status quo." ~~Chris Hedges, A Master Class in Occupation, Monday, October 31, 2011

I was deployed to Iraq 4x

5 of my friends are dead
1 of my friends is missing his arm
1 of my friends killed himself
I've been blown up 2x by roadside bombs
Hearing fireworks makes me nervous
I can't sleep at night

All so bankers and war profiteers could get richer

I am the 99%

This is Razer Raygun saying 'Happy Motoring America...' Enjoy it while you can.

Remember... Capitalism has a gun at your head every moment you're alive:

(And PLEASE try to keep your government from killing all the dusky natives...)
