» In Afghanistan there have been another two US troop deaths in Helmand and Paktia province. Meanwhile a drone strike has killed a member of the al-Haquanni clan... Who aren't Taliban... or al-Qaeda... They're just actively opposed to our presence in the region. That make them worthy of assassinations by drone and an ongoing attempt to wipe out their bloodline. There are also reports of continuing talks between the the Afghani government, the U.S., and our former allies the Taliban.

» In Libya the battles still continue around Tripoli. The US has sent three (more?) drones, ostensibly for observational purposes.
ZAWIYAH, Libya (Reuters) - Rebels to the west and east of Libya's capital fought forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi for control of oil facilities vital to winning the six-month-old civil war.

The United States also deployed two more Predator drones for surveillance operations over Libya, a U.S. official told Reuters on Wednesday, as Gaddafi's forces faced unprecedented pressure.

The drones arrived earlier this week, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. It was not immediately clear how many U.S. drones were currently deployed on the NATO mission. [More]
This seems to be NATO's war to hand the country over to the CIA fronted rebels. How does that mesh with the UN's resolution on the protection of Libyan civilians... ALL Libyan civilians? The resolution ABSOLUTELY called for disarmament of BOTH SIDES.

NATO is violating the UN mandate, and has been since day one, apparently with impunity. Maybe whathisface... Our former "ambassador" Bolton was correct when he said that if most of the UN building was destroyed, it just... wouldn't... matter, as it seems to have become a toothless instrument when it comes to protecting countries the Western industrialized nation are hostile towards.

» President Obama is on the air right now demanding president Bashar al-Assad of Syria step down for the killing of his own civilians using military force, but no one is planning on actually doing anything... Because the US is handcuffed by it's own hypocrisy and doing pretty much the same thing in conjunction with NATO in Libya, except we've invaded the country and are killing the civilians under the aforementioned UN mandate on the PROTECTION of civilians.

» An expelled-from-school teenager in Tampa Florida has been arrested after a friend tipped the police to his plans (and was already under surveillance) to 'get a bigger score' than the Columbine shooters in a back-to-school day massacre. A massacre of the US educational system as a whole, in the commentary.

» The Kremlin claims their special operators have killed Aslan Maskhadov, the leader of the Chechen separatist movement. More at the Guardian UK.

In OTHER News:
This could have all been avoided if they'd been more "concerned about the safety and security" of their riders, who seem to find themselves dead on a somewhat of a regular basis at the hands of BART police, also known as quasi-governmental agency armed guards.

Especially at risk are the poor, homeless, and ethnicities other than Caucasian.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Hackers launched another online attack Wednesday against a California transit agency that found itself in the middle of a debate about free speech after it turned off cell phone service in its stations to thwart a potential protest.

This time, hackers gained access to the website of the union that represents Bay Area Rapid Transit police and posted personal information on more than 100 officers.

The officers' home and email addresses were leaked along with passwords.

BART Police Deputy Chief Daniel Hartwig said his office was aware of the breach and referred inquiries to the BART Police Officers Association. Union president Jesse Sekhon didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
The union's website was disabled later in the day.

The hackers group Anonymous announced the most recent breach on Twitter and published the address of the website where the information could be found.

However, Anonymous didn't immediately claim responsibility for the hack, as it did when it broke into BART's marketing website last week and released the personal information of more than 2,000 customers.

"No one claimed responsibility for the hack," Anonymous said in a Twitter post. "Some random joe joined a channel and released the data to the press."

BART interim General Manager Sherwood Wakeman condemned the latest "attack on the working men and women of BART."

"We are deeply concerned about the safety and security of our employees and their families," he said [In Full]
