Jon Huntsman ended up with seventeen percent and everyone else accumulated ten percent or less. South Carolina is the next primary which will be a grudge match between Newt Gingrich and Romney. «o» Iran's top nuclear scientist responsible for reprocessing fissionable materials has been assassinated in Tehran. Two motorcycles pulled up next to his car and attached a limpet mine, a magnetic explosive charge, killing him, his driver, and others. Suspects? The United States and Israel.

Iranian nuclear scientist killed in bomb blast
Iranian nuclear scientist and university professor, Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, was killed when his car exploded in North Tehran. The Iranian authorities blamed Israel for what it called a "terrorist bomb blast." Ahmadi-Roshan was a chemistry engineer and department supervisor at the Nantz uranium enrichment facility,one of two sites where scientists are suspected to be working to advance nuclear weapons technology. Witnesses said the blast occurred after an unidentified motorcyclist stuck a magnetic explosive device to the car, which injured at least two others. This is the fourth such attack in the past two years for which Iran has implicated Israel and the United States for attempting to assassinate key figures involved in the nuclear program, but the countries deny responsibility. «o» In Pakistan the supreme court has ordered the Prime Minister, who just sacked the Defense Minister, to charge the country's president with corruption and put him on trial or they will remove the Prime Minister by court order. This comes as the question of the relation between the Pakistani government, their military, and the US is under intense critique and discussion on both sides of the diplomatic divide.

Court Won’t Allow Private Prison Labor Lawsuit After Permanent Damage To Both Of Prisoner's Arms
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court won’t allow employees at a privately run federal prison to be sued by an inmate in federal court despite his complaint that their neglect left him with two permanently damaged arms.
The high court ruled 8-1 Tuesday to throw out the federal lawsuit by inmate Richard Lee Pollard against employees of the GEO Group, formerly known as Wackenhut Corrections Corp. Pollard wanted to sue for his treatment after he fell and fractured both of his elbows at the privately run Taft Correctional Institution in Taft, Calif(ornia).
Pollard said GEO officials put him in a metal restraint that caused him pain, and refused to provide him with a splint, making his injuries worse and causing permanent impairment. He sued in federal court for money, claiming GEO officials had violated the Eighth Amendment prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment... [More @ Salon]
