In The News:
H/t to ChrisM my MP3Angel for the news and commentary audio files.
» Russian finance minister Aleksei L. Kudrin has upbraided president Medvedev and announced that he would quit rather than work for Mr. Medvedev, who will become prime minister next year in a leadership swap with Vladimir V. Putin. He was promptly fired in a manner fitting an ogliarchy for opposing the job swap. More at the New York Times.
» The Libyan 'rebels' now say that Muammar al-Gadaffi is hiding with the Tuareg tribes in the Southern desert. Yet they are still besieging the city of Sirte where he was previously thought to have holed up. That's undoubtedly because the people of Sirte along with 90% of the Libyan population including almost ALL of the nomadic groups that comprise the majority of the Libyan population, consider the new NATO CIA government illegitimate.
In other news regarding our "allies" in the region. Their women may be able to vote now but...

» Expect your consumer crap to get more expensive - China will retaliate in the trade arena and other ways for a US decision to sell fighter aircraft to Taiwan... As if they're going to invade the mainland, or perhaps defend themselves against an invasion from there. More on America's arms sales policy in the commentary.
» Palestian President Abbas will present his case for statehood to the UN Security Council today. Expect a veto from the US when the 'decision' is reached... probably by Friday.
» Despite MASSIVE numbers of Americans out of work the US Senate will not look at the job bill when they come back from recess in the middle of next week. They'll work on the trade bill with China (see above) instead. That's most likely because the Democrats don't have the votes to get their version of the job bill passed.
Remember...
(And PLEASE try to keep your government from killing all the dusky natives!)
