The situation in Pakistan and Afghanistan continues to deteriorate. In response to multiple air raids into Pakistan by the US and NATO Pakistan has destroyed a bridge US troops rebuilt at Torkham in August, 2009 after it was wiped out by a flash flood. The Pakistani government has called for a halt to all NATO shipments into the tribal lands to the North, which most likely WERE NOT relief shipments.

In the meantime, CIA Chief Panetta is in Pakistan conferring with Pakistan's CIA, the ISI and has OTHER PRESSING PROBLEMS... Death Squad Problems.
An Internet video showing men in Pakistani military uniforms executing six young men in civilian clothes has heightened concerns about unlawful killings by Pakistani soldiers supported by the United States, American officials said.

A video on the Facebook page of the Pashtuns’ International Association seemed to show young men in civilian clothes being killed by Pakistani soldiers. The Pakistani military said it was faked.

Video of the Killings Warning: Contains Graphic Images
(Ed. don't bother... it's no longer at the Facebook page)

The authenticity of the five-and-a-half-minute video, which shows the killing of the six men — some of whom appear to be teenagers, blindfolded, with their hands bound behind their backs — has not been formally verified by the American government. The Pakistani military said it was faked by militants.

But American officials, who did not want to be identified because of the explosive nature of the video, said it appeared to be credible, as did retired American military officers and intelligence analysts who have viewed it.

After viewing the graphic video on Wednesday, an administration official said: “There are things you can fake, and things you can’t fake. You can’t fake this.”

The director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Leon E. Panetta, who was in Islamabad on Wednesday on a previously scheduled visit, was expected to raise the subject of the video with the chief of the Pakistani Army, Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, and the head of the Pakistani spy agency, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shuja Pasha, American officials said...

...and to top it off, Adam Gadahn, considered the premier English speaking proponent of Jihad, has called for the overthrow of the Pakistani government due to their inability to cope with the recent monsoon-driven flooding among other things.

France has been expelling Roma gypsies for a few weeks, and now they have been charged by the EU with Genocide after gypsy conclaves in place for hundreds of years are bulldozed and the Roma deported.

Western Europe in full "Pucker Factor" - A German citizen in Afghanistan has been captured who claims that there are plans for attacks on soft targets all over Europe.

The Karzai government in Afghanistan has appointed 70 representatives to reconciliation talks with the Taliban, leaving no one to fight but al Qaeda, who are in Pakistan, which we have territorially invaded with or without the consent of their government... More.

With recess looming Congress is in the process of 'processing "pork"' under the 'Unanimous Consent' parliamentary clause... Except in the Senate, where senator Jim DeMint has said he will force the examination of every bill in the senate using another parliamentary procedure.

The cost of war.... In 1921 the Germans were handed a $21 billion dollar bill for the damages caused by World War One... Ninety two years later... this week the German government will finally pay off the last of that debt.

A Few More Items Of Note:

Former Reagan official Paul Craig Roberts claims that the US government is establishing in the mind of the public that anyone who criticizes the War on Terror is aligned with terrorists. The Afghanistan war is beginning to intrude on the minds of American soldiers - Five members of a Stryker platoon are most likely going to be court martialed for killing Afghanistan's humans for sport. There's footage, they don't deny it, and at least ONE OF THEM was taking ten different medications. The military, as is the modern custom, has disallowed that soldier from using his somewhat involuntary over-medication as a defense.

That also calls for a reiteration from yesterday's synopsis: "Meanwhile, soldiers WHO DO recollect their experiences on the field of battle are being suppressed and censored"

Also in Afghanistan, General Petraeus is reporting that the Karzai administration is in direct negotiations with the Talib as "Operation DragonStrike" continues to find minimal resistance as the resistance melts away in Kandahar and Helmand. There are going to be protests in Chicago and Indianapolis today after the extent of FBI spying on the US antiwar movement is exposed in the media. Samples of some organizations response to this below

There is going to be legislation introduced in the House and Senate soon attempting to legitimize full time snooping on the internet, Facebook, Twitter, by the DOJ and other law enforcement agencies, to the same extent that they have the legal right to tap your phone.

"DragonStrike" is underway.... That's the moniker given to the NATO/American military surge operation in Kandahar. Winter is coming and Western forces are attempting to drive the Talib into the mountains. A good tactic causing attrition and morale breakdown (but the Talib undoubtedly have friends in the mountains too)

The House of Representatives will wait until after the elections to discuss the repeal of the Bush administration passed tax breaks for the wealthy.

Good luck with that 'Restraint" thing - The moratorium on Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem is over and the construction has already begun. Israel's Prime Minister and the US have begged the Israeli settlers to show restraint.

The Obama administration is attempting to stop the federal suit preventing the administration from issuing an assassination order on the American Islamic preacher, Anwar al-Awlaki, currently believed to be holed up in Yemen.

The New York Times has some information on the Kandahar 'Surge'

While the Pentagon drugs and abandons it's over-medicated-for-easy-programming soldiers
SEATTLE - Along with his rifle and armor, Army Spc. Jeremy Morlock relied on a bag of prescription medications to help him get through a treacherous year in Afghanistan, where his body was rattled by bomb attacks.

In May, when Morlock was questioned about alleged war crimes, his prescription drugs included two anti-depressants, a potent muscle relaxer, two sleep medications and a pain reliever infused with codeine, according to a list provided by his defense attorney.

In two interviews with investigators, the 22-year-old Alaskan made a series of stunning allegations that implicated him and four other soldiers in what Army prosecutors assert were premeditated plans to murder three Afghan civilians.

These statements now form a central part of the Army's case against the five soldiers.

In a hearing scheduled for Monday at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Morlock's civilian defense attorney, Michael Waddington, is expected to argue that his client's statements should be discounted because they were given while Morlock was under the influence of some of these drugs.

"We pulled at least 10 prescriptions out of his bag. They were giving these out like candy," Waddington said. "His memory of events is very foggy."

Other lawyers who have reviewed the statements, one of which was on videotape, said Morlock sometimes sounded confused and the information he provided was sometimes contradictory... MORE

Pentagon destroys thousands of copies of Army officer's memoir

September 25, 2010
By Chris Lawrence and Padma Rama, CNN

'Operation Dark Heart' describes Lt. Col Anthony Shaffer's time in Afghanistan leading a black-ops team.

The Department of Defense recently purchased and destroyed thousands of copies of an Army Reserve officer's memoir in an effort to safeguard state secrets, a spokeswoman said Saturday.

"DoD decided to purchase copies of the first printing because they contained information which could cause damage to national security," Pentagon spokeswoman Lt. Col. April Cunningham said.

In a statement to CNN, Cunningham said defense officials observed the September 20 destruction of about 9,500 copies of Army Reserve Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer's new memoir "Operation Dark Heart."

Shaffer says he was notified Friday about the Pentagon's purchase.

"The whole premise smacks of retaliation," Shaffer told CNN on Saturday. "Someone buying 10,000 books to suppress a story in this digital age is ludicrous."

Shaffer's publisher, St. Martin's Press, released a second printing of the book that it said had incorporated some changes the government had sought "while redacting other text he (Shaffer) was told was classified."

From single words and names to entire paragraphs, blacked out lines appear throughout the book's 299 pages.

CNN obtained a memo from the Defense Intelligence Agency dated August 6 in which Lt. Gen. Ronald Burgess claims the DIA tried for nearly two months to get a copy of the manuscript. Burgess said the DIA's investigation "identified significant classified information, the release of which I have determined could reasonably be expected to cause serious damage to national security."

Burgess said the manuscript contained secret activities of the U.S. Special Operations Command, CIA and National Security Agency.

Shaffer's lawyer, Mark Zaid, said earlier this month that the book was reviewed by Shaffer's military superiors prior to publication.

"There was a green light from the Army Reserve Command," Zaid told CNN.

But intelligence agencies apparently raised objections when they received copies of the book. MORE

Brazil looks likely to elect an extraordinary leader next weekend

By Hugh O'Shaughnessy
Sunday, 26 September 2010

The world's most powerful woman will start coming into her own next weekend. Stocky and forceful at 63, this former leader of the resistance to a Western-backed military dictatorship (which tortured her) is preparing to take her place as President of Brazil.

As head of state, president Dilma Rousseff would outrank Angela Merkel, Germany's Chancellor, and Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State: her enormous country of 200 million people is revelling in its new oil wealth. Brazil's growth rate, rivalling China's, is one that Europe and Washington can only envy.

Her widely predicted victory in next Sunday's presidential poll will be greeted with delight by millions. It marks the final demolition of the "national security state", an arrangement that conservative governments in the US and Europe once regarded as their best artifice for limiting democracy and reform. It maintained a rotten status quo that kept a vast majority in poverty in Latin America while favouring their rich friends... More at Independent UK

Now... About that FBI "Spying and Lying":

The FBI in the United States has raided the homes of a number of US anti-war activists on what has been called, by most observers, "a fishing expedition:

The Chicago Tribune's initial reports are HERE

Activists immediately began to speak out

Here are a few choice words from PETA. “The use of McCarthyite tactics against PETA and other groups that speak out against ...

...and the Catholics, on the stalking of the Ploughshares Direct Action Project/Catholic Worker.
When asked about the investigation into the activities of several Catholic Worker groups, he (Michael Komba) said: "Technically, Catholic Workers are more pacifists, but some do more activist work. I can see looking into it, but calling it a terrorist organization? That's (going) way too far."

He also said he was glad the Justice Department's report was issued because the "FBI needs to be held accountable." He said he was troubled by many other incidents of FBI investigations especially since 9/11.

That the Casa Maria Catholic Worker house was even mentioned in the report, he said, was "surprising."

"It was special in a weird way," he said, adding that it makes him "a little worried."

He said Casa Maria members are primarily involved in providing shelter to homeless women and refugee students, and distributing food and clothing in the city along with anti-war protests. In Full @ US Catholic

Anti-Fascist organizations make note of the operation's similarity to the infamous COINTELPRO operations of the 60s and 70s

Bill Fisher, former State Department, at The World According To Bill Fisher notes the FBI's bald faced lies:
FBI Caught Fibbing!

"The FBI was quick to revert to defensive mode. An FBI spokesman, Michael Kortan, said that the report’s most important finding was that after “an exhaustive review of hundreds of investigative decisions the FBI made after the Sept. 11 attacks,” the IG’s office “did not uncover even a single instance where the FBI targeted any group based on the exercise of a First Amendment right."
.
.
.
"For example, in the case of the 2002 Pittsburgh protest, The Times reports that an FBI agent who attended the event filed a two-page account labeled “results of investigation of Pittsburgh antiwar activity.”

It detailed leafleting by people associated with the Thomas Merton Center, The Times wrote, which the agent described as a “left-wing organization” that advocated pacifism, to protest the coming Iraq war.

The account described the leaflets as making such claims as that Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction and raised questions about whether the center was linked to Muslims.

Thomas Merton (1915-1968) is arguably the most influential American Catholic author of the twentieth century. Pittsburgh’s Thomas Merton Center began in 1972 to protest the continuation of the war in Vietnam. The Center raised funds for medical aid to Indochina and provided information for schools and religious education programs on racism, poverty, and war.

The Times notes that, after the ACLU made the report public, the bureau’s press office told reporters that the agent attended the protest “as a direct result of information provided to the F.B.I. related to an ongoing investigation.”

Later, the FBI director, Robert S. Mueller III, told Congress that the agent was trying to “identify an individual who happened to be, we believed, in attendance at that rally.”

But the inspector general found this story to be false: a supervisor had sent the agent to the protest as a “make-work” assignment to see if any subjects of Pittsburgh terrorism investigations “happened to show up without having any reason to think any of them would be there.”" More Here
More lies from the Justice Department, and a list of some of the 'threats' to America from New American:
Among those targeted were the anti-war Thomas Merton Center, the Religious Society of Friends (the Quakers), the Catholic Worker, Greenpeace, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), and an individual Quaker peace activist.

According to the Inspector General, there was "little or no basis" for the investigations. In Full

Dance Party assaulted by police on UCSC campus

September 27th 2010

SANTA CRUZ, California – On Friday evening, a crowd of people gathered together at Porter College at UCSC for a dance party. Approximately a half hour in, dancers began moving the sound system to begin a roving dance party, with a crowd of approximately 150. As it rolled through a parking lot, a police cruiser began tightly following the dancers. Some grabbed a hold of fencing material off the side of the road, and dragged to the center of the road, (intended to be used as some sort of barricade between the cruiser and the people). The crowd moved on and walked down an open-air corridor between two rows of dormitories. The sound system settled in the center of the corridor for a several minutes as the party continued.

Without any warning, the crowd began rushing away from the sound system and the scattered array of 5 or 6 police. The police began knocking people down on the ground and grabbing any terrified person running away from them. One bystander was leaving the scene as a police officer aggressively grabbed the person. The bystander tried to escape the certain arrest, and the resulting inertia knocked the police officer on her rear-end. As of now three people have been arrested, at least one has been charged with “attempted lynching,” which means someone who tries to de-arrest someone, and assaulting an officer. (Source)

While in the rest of America Jesus' General points out there IS a certain kind of justice lacking in the U.S. so-called judicial system:
September 23 2010: "Tonight, we showed the world, once again, that we are still that shining city on the hill. Ignoring world-wide pleas to do otherwise, we embraced our most basic values and principles by executing a mentally disabled woman.

Teresa Lewis had an IQ of 72. That's just 2 points above the number needed to be officially deemed "mentally retarded."

But that did not stop the good patriots of Virginia from executing her. "She was involved in a murder," they cried, "and by God, she must be killed--Do not deny us the vicarious thrill of killing in the name of justice!"

Lewis wasn't the first mentally disabled person to be executed. We've proudly killed many others before her. Here's a short list of a few of them..." In Full @ Jesus General

It's pretty much over for this federal legislative session - After all the talk about the Democrats and tax proposals etc, the Democratic Senate leadership will not take up extending the Bush tax cuts, while the House has managed to pass a tax credit bill allowing small community banks to make small business loans. Details from the 'Journal of Accountancy'. Off the floor there are a number of non-debated issues left, but they should be resolved by early next week.

It's Friday and the rumor in California was the same as last Friday. The "framework of an agreement" has been reached but there's STILL no budget in California as the gubernatorial race between Meg Whitman, who has spent $150 MILLION dollars, and former governor Jerry Brown is in a dead heat.

EVERYONE got their cardio exercise yesterday at the UN General Assembly session in New York - President Obama said the words Israel doesn't want to hear... He expects them to extend the settlement building ban. Meanwhile at least 30 Western delegations walked out on Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as he called Israel 'Racist', referring to 9/11 as a U.S. conspiracy designed to continue it's economic and military domination of the world, and Iran and Lebanon walked out on Israeli president Peres' 'Friendship Speech'.

The Republicans have unveiled their 'Pledge to America'. It includes tax breaks for every American in every pot and more.

The Washington Post on that 'Pledge': "It didn't take too long for the Republican leaders to appoint themselves as arrogant elites."

The US government HAS filed it's appeal on the injunction permanently barring the enforcement of Pentagon's Don't Ask Don't Tell policy claiming it was a legislative issue to be resolved outside the courts.

Thanks to ChrisM, my MP3Angel, for supplying the commentary and news audio files this morning.

President Obama gave his second speech at the UN General Assembly this morning where he talked about Middle East relations and the hunt for al Qaeda (Let it be noted senior Obama administration officials say, despite our 'efforts' the "risk of small-scale attacks by al-Qaeda and its allies is rising").

Highlights of that speech are here. The president spoke yesterday about development and poverty.

Meanwhile at home, ObamaCare begins as some of the federally mandated health care reforms kick in today but there are sticky points. Details.

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is most likely going to run for mayor of Chicago. He will be leaving as soon as three weeks from now and will most likely replaced by senior staff advisor Pete Rouse. Other possible candidates include "...deputy National Security Adviser Tom Donilon, Vice President Biden’s chief of staff Ron Klain and White House counsel Bob Bauer."(source, ABCNews).

In Yemen , 4 rebels-without-arms we're calling al Qaeda have been captured making that 27 so far. But it is suspected that Anwar al-Awlaki and others have escaped into the mountains. The Yemeni government is refuting US involvement in the operations

Today the White House and Justice Department have to file appeals and motions in federal court defending the Pentagon's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" against a federal court ruling and permanent injunction due to the rule's apparent unconstitutionality. If the administration doesn't act, Congress' Republicans rejection of the rider attached to the Defense Appropriations bill becomes moot.

In OTHER News:

Erik Prince's Blackwater is apparently spying on US domestic activists according to Jeremy Scahill @ The Nation:
Through Total Intelligence and the Terrorism Research Center, Blackwater also did business with a range of multinational corporations. According to internal Total Intelligence communications, biotech giant Monsanto—the world’s largest supplier of genetically modified seeds—hired the firm in 2008–09. The relationship between the two companies appears to have been solidified in January 2008 when Total Intelligence chair Cofer Black traveled to Zurich to meet with Kevin Wilson, Monsanto’s security manager for global issues.

After the meeting in Zurich, Black sent an e-mail to other Blackwater executives, including to Prince and Prado at their Blackwater e-mail addresses. Black wrote that Wilson “understands that we can span collection from internet, to reach out, to boots on the ground on legit basis protecting the Monsanto [brand] name…. Ahead of the curve info and insight/heads up is what he is looking for.” Black added that Total Intelligence “would develop into acting as intel arm of Monsanto.” Black also noted that Monsanto was concerned about animal rights activists and that they discussed how Blackwater “could have our person(s) actually join [activist] group(s) legally.” Black wrote that initial payments to Total Intelligence would be paid out of Monsanto’s “generous protection budget” but would eventually become a line item in the company’s annual budget. He estimated the potential payments to Total Intelligence at between $100,000 and $500,000. According to documents, Monsanto paid Total Intelligence $127,000 in 2008 and $105,000 in 2009.

...And Jimmy Carter's Secretary of Energy sounds the alarm (about Peak Oil)
James Schlesinger, President Carter’s Energy Secretary, wrote the foreword to a book written by Dr Robert Hirsch, a former US official who predicts a fall of the oil production within 5 years.

Never before has a high-ranking political figure like Schlesinger gave his support to such a prognosis.

The book will be published in the US on October the 1st. Here is an exclusive interview with its author. [In Full]

In The News:
Thanks to ChrisM, my MP3Angel, for supplying the commentary and news audio files this morning.

The "Don't Ask Don't Tell" elimination rider has killed the Defense Appropriation bill with the Republicans voting against it en masse. Expect no action on it until after November's elections. Options follow.

Elective readings on "Defense" Appropriations from Foreign Policy In Focus:
"In reality, military spending doesn’t create jobs, it kills them. According to a study by the Center for Economic and Political Research..."
That and much more HERE

The Yemeni army most like in cooperation with our seventy two JSOC 'special operators' in the country have been fighting in the Southern and coastal areas. They have apparently captured a couple of fighters who had been released from Guantanamo as they push towards the mountains in pursuit of the US citizen Islamic 'renegade' preacher Anwar al-Awlaki who has been ordered assassinated.

He does... due to what he does, and where he does it - US forces have arrested an Afghan reporter who they have accused of having 'ties with the Taliban'.

I guess we know who's in charge now! Bob Woodward has come out with new book detailing the invasion of Afghanistan that shows the president (Obama) looking for withdrawal even as the Pentagon was pushing for a surge. The White House likes the book, saying it showed a 'decisive' president Obama.

Counterpoint to the commentary, from an email list Razer frequents [A-List]:
"Nice to know there are so many bigshots wanting to get out of Afghanistan, or otherwise, knowing the Obama strategy cannot succeed. Such as Holbrooke... Of course none of them are angels from up in heaven, Holboook's most remarkable accomplishment has been stopping the defoliation of poppy fields and keeping the heroin flowing. Remember that? His idea was "We'll focus on the distribution networks after they pay the growers, and focus on the financial flows thru the banks in the region..." Perfectly contradictory goals. Of course Karzai's govt has become a narco state. (source)
Tom Engelhardt from TomDispatch on the state of our war on Afghanistan:
"Meanwhile, Afghan war commander General David Petraeus was interviewed last week by Martha Raddatz of ABC News.

Asked whether the American war in Afghanistan, almost a decade old, was finally on the right counterinsurgency track and could go on for another nine or ten years, Petraeus agreed that we were just at the beginning of the process, that the “clock” was only now ticking, and that we needed “realistic expectations” about what could happen and how fast. “Progress” in Afghanistan, he commented, was often so slow that it could feel like “watching grass grow or paint dry.”

Now, I’m not a betting man, but I’d head for Vegas tomorrow and put my money down against the general and on Americans generally when it comes to assessing the future..." [In Full]
"When WILL this happen in my city?" You ask... Eight city officials of Bell California, population 36,552 (2009) who had been massively overpaid (the city manager made 4 times as much money as the president of the United States) have been arrested for misappropriation of public funds (53 counts against one person), conflict of interest and more. For what it's worth, the chief of police in the California city Razer lives in, a town of 55,000+-, makes close to $150,000 a year, and many of the officers make $80-$100,000. The unsolved murder rate is 85% and the police spend most of their efforts during the year in a city government and downtown business driven homeless purge and pursuing people who illegally smoke cigarettes (a recently passed 'ordinance') on the main downtown street.

In OTHER News:

Iraq... Remember Iraq?
"Combat operations are officially over in Iraq. But the US Air Force is still flying tens of thousands of missions over Iraq. USA pilots have been continuously operating over Iraq since 1990 Gulf War. And they’re likely to fly there for years to come; while Iraqi ground troops have steadily taken a bigger and bigger role in the country’s security, its air force is still lagging far behind.

Thru 1st 7 mos of 2010 USA pilots flew 4,620 “close air support” missions over ground troops in combat. Meanwhile, US air war over Afghanistan escalates. Only last month, US pilots flew 3,200 “close air support” sorties over Afghanistan, dropping bombs or firing weapons on 500 different missions." ~~S. Brian Willson

Showdown in the Senate - Debate, if they agree not to filibuster, begins on the $280 BILLION DOLLAR Defense Appropriations bill to pay for our wars. The bill including a rider that repeals Don't Ask Don't Tell, the military's Gay Rights work-around. That's where it gets interesting... Details.

Yesterday, as the evening drive-time began in Washington, D.C., there were reports that a number of people had taken ill after passing through tunnels around the area and an evacuation had been ordered... and then the story vanished.

There is major flooding on the Mexican Gulf Coast from Vera Cruz to Corpus Christi Texas as a result of Hurricane Karl. Seven inches of rain was recorded in 24 hours and Southeast Texas is on floodwatch.

The non-government in Mogadishu Somalia just had it's Prime Minister resign in protest of some issues in the constitution being written and he said that the country didn't need foreign assistance. Meanwhile, the "International community calls for ceasefire" with the rebels, who control most of the country.

Today is "World Peace Day"... Some words from the National Union of Somali Journalists:
With the anguish, displacement and killing of innocent civilian people, peace cannot be achieved through hegemony or greed for power. Human rights have been violated in the worst level of atrocities, rule of law has been replaced with the rule of the gun, and respect for human race has been completely buried. (In Full)

Regarding the commentary topic... From "The Hill":
"Senate Democrats are seriously weighing whether to leave town at the end of next week, instead of staying in session until Oct. 7 or Oct. 8, as had been anticipated...." (Source)

In The News:
Thanks to ChrisM, my MP3Angel, for supplying the commentary and news audio files this morning.

Both of our wars are going badly with bombings in Baghdad and Diyala province, and in Afghanistan, the vote, with a forty percent turnout (much better than the typical US turnout) even with 65 polling place attacks and at least 30 killed.

Just to show how our Afghan 'democracy'(small 'd' intentional) is working out...

From the editor @ Rethink Afghanistan's Facebook page:
The Christian Science Monitor reports that massive vote fraud already mars this weekend’s parliamentary elections, with vote-stuffing so pervasive that brawls are breaking out between teams of vote-riggers.
BP has finished the "Bottom Kill" of the Deepwater-Horizon-Macondo wreckage in the Gulf of Mexico.

New York is getting ready for it's big social season with the United Nations about to go into session. More in the commentary.

Pacific Gas and Electric will release a list of deteriorated and risky pipelines in Northern California as the first lawsuits from the San Bruno pipeline explosions are filed.

General Motors is going to take it's stock public again this fall and the Chinese auto company SAIC is expected to be one of the groups getting a piece of what's left of Detroit's 'action'.

One More Thing:

Tough Nuts to a certain Troglodyte in Texas:
A would-be Koran-burner in Amarillo, Texas was foiled by a 23-year-old skateboarder named Jacob Isom, who was among a group of about 200 people protesting a planned burning September 11. As Isom described it: "I snuck up behind him and took his Koran, he said something about burning the Koran, I said 'Dude you have no Koran,' and ran off." (source)

[After the commentary, a couple of different sentiments and influences in regard to today's topic... Canned Heat says "Let's Work Together", followed by Brother who feel a "Romp & Circumstance" coming on. Courtesy of the respective artists and KPIG California Freedom Earth.]
